The OC Mix, SoCo Collection and Living Fit OC collaborated to bring awareness to living a healthy lifestyle. With vendors, free demos and giveaways the OC Mix was transformed into a destination for a guide to health-related products, activities and resources.
Jason Quinn of the Playground in Downtown Santa Ana, and winner of season two of the Food Network’s Great Food Truck Race, provided a free cooking demonstration at Surfas Culinary District from 11 am – 1 pm. Quinn focused on healthy recipes that utilized fresh, local ingredients.
Many vendors provided free demonstrations. Integrative Health and Wellness provided free massages and a chance to win a free hour-long massage. CorePower Yoga gave a yoga class and an opportunity to win a free month of yoga classes.
Laura A. LeDoux offered free consultations and information for over wellness with nutrition, reflexology, aromatherapy and reiki. Reiki is a form of Japanese healing, where a light touch is applied, sometimes with the use of crystals and aromatherapy, to effectuate systemic healing.
Other workshops included planting instructions from Rolling Greens, CPR/First-Aid from Granola Babies, consultations from Maximum Performance Chiropractic, cooking tips from Whole Living Studio and fitness advice from OC Fitness and Nutrition.
The workshops, demos and consultations drew large crowd to the SoCo Collection. There were also food trucks and a Farmers’ Market specializing in local, organic fare.
The OC Mix hosts great events periodically throughout the year. Be sure to check the OC Mix website and Facebook page frequently for event updates. The Farmers’ Market at the SoCo Collection is regarded as the best farmers’ market in Orange County and is held every Saturday from 9 am – 2 pm.
