WHAT TO DO
Much of Costa Mesa is easily walkable making it perfect for exploring parks and nearby beaches with plenty of insta-worthy moments for sharing your experience. If your pet wants to let loose, Costa Mesa Bark Park is voted one of the best in Orange County for pets to run free and play with others. For more structure, walk through Fairview Park on various trails where native wildlife abounds. If your dog loves the water, take a short drive to Huntington Beach, which has one of the only dog beaches in Southern California. It’s perfect for experiencing the Orange County coast.

WHERE TO EAT
Head over to SOCO and The OC Mix for a beverage from award-winning Portola Coffee Roasters and a pastry. Relax in the courtyard by the fountain where you might even make a few friends with other furry pals out for a stroll. On Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the local Farmer’s Market takes place here. WHERE TO SHOP
Shop small in the SoBeCa District at The LAB and The CAMP, home to dozens of small shops selling jewelry, clothing, eco-friendly items and products for active individuals. These unexpected “anti-malls” are dotted with airstream trailers where you can meet the owners who are also members of our local community. Also here are several artsy murals and features like the painted oil-can fountain. WHERE TO STAY
