CALLING ALL BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS TO TWEET THEIR IDEA OF A “DREAM” MEETING AMENITY OR BREAK!

On the heels of a multimillion-dollar redesign, the Avenue of the Arts, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel debuts its new meetings and events spaces with a Twitter contest, held November 1-30, 2010

In celebration of its newly redesigned meetings, event, and conference spaces, the Avenue of the Arts, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel announces the “Make Your Own Meeting” Twitter contest, taking place November 1-30, 2010. As a component of the “Make Your Own Meeting” initiative, the hotel encourages business professionals to tweet about their ideal meeting amenity or themed break in hopes of securing that amenity at their next business meeting held at the hotel. The sky is the limit when it comes to creativity—be it a desire for leather recliners for all meeting attendees or a complimentary seven-course catered lunch by the hotel’s celebrated executive chef, Robert Biebrich. In addition to the “Make Your Own Meeting” Twitter contest—and as a further means of introducing professionals to the hotel’s newly renovated meetings and events spaces—the Avenue of the Arts, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel will also offer a 20% discount to any groups that book and hold a meeting prior to January 31, 2011. Behind-the-Scenes at Costa Mesa’s Gorgeous Art Complexes

Posted on October 1, 2010 | 9:00am

Baffles, bravos and bows.  Sometimes it takes seeing something you take for granted through someone else’s eyes to remind you of how remarkable it really is.

On a recent excursion to Costa Mesa’s burgeoning Theater & Arts District with a group of travel writers, several members of the Costa Mesa Conference & Visitor Bureau team had the opportunity to tag along on an insiders’ tour of two of its amazing concert venues: The Orange County Performing Arts Center and the Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ and the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Also in the Segerstrom Center is the Tony Award-winning South Coast Repertory Theatre. Read More

Seasons 52 Now Open in Costa Mesa!

Posted on September 22, 2010 | 9:00am

Seasons 52, a wine bar and restaurant, has opened at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa.

The restaurant offers a “contemporary American menu, a fun, accessible list of wines and cocktails, a casually sophisticated ambiance and exceptional service,” according to a news release.

The South Coast Plaza location is the first in California and the first west of the Mississippi. The restaurant is owned by Orlando, Fla.-based Darden Restaurants, which also owns the Red Lobster and Olive Garden.

The menu stresses wood-fire grilling and brick-oven cooking over the use of fryers. No butter is used during cooking and each item on the menu contains less than 475 calories.

The wine list includes 100 wines, 60 by the glass, and a full bar.

“We are thrilled to launch our California expansion here at South Coast Plaza,” Stephen Judge, president of Seasons 52, said in a news release. “Seasons 52 offers a distinctive dining experience that truly complements the California lifestyle and one that can satisfy even the most sophisticated, culinary-savvy diners. We’re also very excited that our culinary team now has local access to California’s seasonal bounty, which is by far some of the country’s best ingredients to cook with.”

Seasons 52 is located on the south side of South Coast Plaza, near the main entrance on Bristol Street. The restaurant has seating for 300, including a 65-seat patio with two fire pits, and is decorated in a contemporary style featuring earth tones and abstract art.
