From hidden gems to emerging hotspots, we\u2019ve collected all the must-try restaurants in Costa Mesa for all appetites\u2014all of them are must-tries, no skips!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting to Costa Mesa is a breeze; it\u2019s nestled between L.A. and San Diego. If you\u2019re not close enough to drive, here\u2019s a local tip: fly into O.C.\u2019s beloved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ocair.com\/\">John Wayne Airport<\/a> (SNA) and beat the stress of LAX. You\u2019ll thank us later<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where Flavor Meets Fun<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.northgatemarket.com\/mercado\">Mercado Gonzalez<\/a> is 70,000 square feet of authentic, family-owned goodness inspired by the famous food markets of Mexico. Any craving you have, they\u2019ve got it covered\u2014birrieria, carnitas, seasonal fruit, and even fresh seafood? Get the Beef Tallow French Fries if you\u2019re a fry aficionado, and pair it with the Soppressata white pie. We\u2019re big fans of the Bocadillos, or Spanish sandwiches, with vegetables or tuna. There\u2019s no going wrong with the Seabirds menu, but we specifically rec the Beer Battered Avo Taco and Purple Potato Taquitos. There are two soup dumpling heavy hitters: <a href=\"https:\/\/dtf.com\/en\/locations\/costa-mesa\">Din Tai Fung<\/a> (we\u2019re always down to DTF here, and we can\u2019t get enough of their stir-fried veg), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paradisegp.com\/usa\/\">Paradise Dynasty<\/a>, with eight-spice soup dumplings pushing the bounds with flavor (you <em>have<\/em> to try the Crab Meat with Roe Xiao Long Bao). <a href=\"https:\/\/anqibistro.com\/\">AnQi Bistro<\/a> has a noods and dumpling bar, but don\u2019t overlook the small plates or the steaks. You can\u2019t go wrong with the half-sandwich combo (we rec the \u201cNot So Fried\u201d Chicken) with a cup of Thai Sweet Potato Soup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/collageexperience.com\/index.html\">The Collage<\/a> is another great solution if you\u2019re feeding a group: it\u2019s a two-story dining collective at South Coast Plaza with lots of choices. One person might be feeling a gourmet waffle sandwich at <a href=\"https:\/\/collageexperience.com\/restaurant-bruxie.html\">Bruxie<\/a>, but another might want to get drinks on the patio at <a href=\"https:\/\/collageexperience.com\/restaurant-blossoms.html\">Blossoms &amp; Brass<\/a>. The Persian Cucumber salad followed by Ceci e Tria pasta and Sole Milanese as a main is, at least to us, a meal for the history books.
