Jeanine De Bique, a Trinidadian soprano, will join Concerto Köln, a renowned period instrument orchestra, in a celebration of female protagonists. The program will feature a series of Handel heroines contrasted with their contemporaries from operas by Carl Heinrich Graun and Riccardo Broschi. De Bique will sing arias from various works, including Rodrigo, Giulio Cesare, Rodelinda, Partenope, and more.
This concert will feature the West Coast debut of three newly discovered works by Concerto Köln, which are being performed on tour for the first time. The works include Graun's "Risolvere non oso" and "L'empio rigor del fato" from Rodelinda, as well as Broschi's "Mi restano le lagrime" from L'isola d'Alcina.
