Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery

2128 Mesa Drive, Newport Beach, CA, 92660

Established in 2000, Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery consists of 3-1/2 acres of land situated on the Upper Newport Bay and it produces more than 350 cases of California Red Meritage Wine annually. The vineyards contain approximately 1,200 Bordeaux style grape vines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. The grapes are harvested, crushed and fermented each September to produce the award-winning Meritage red wine.

Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery has the same elements of soil and climate, and the same kind of warm days and cool nights that produce the outstanding wines of Bordeaux, Napa and other famous wine-making regions throughout the world.  Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery also has a 1,000-square-foot underground "Wine Cave" that maintains a temperature of 60 degrees all year round.  Tours of the Wine Cave are given upon request. Wines are aged in the wine cave for at least two years in new French oak barrels and then bottled in April.

People who visit the winery can see coyotes, bobcats, raccoons, possums, gophers, rabbits, squirrels and field mice in the Upper Newport Bay area and in the Ecological Reserve. Eagles, barn owls, osprey, red shoulder hawks, Cooper's hawks, peregrine falcons, burrowing owls, crows, seagulls and finches can also be seen. Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery also has its own bird aviary for guests to enjoy.
