A round white table at Outpost Kitchen Costa Mesa is set with plates of colorful brunch foods—avocado toast, waffles with berries, leafy salads, toast, and drinks—as multiple hands reach in with utensils and glasses.

Jay Lewis and wife Elizabeth opened the first Outpost Kitchen in 2015. After much deserved acclaim they opened the second Costa Mesa location in South Coast Plaza. The gourmet coffee and organic food experience is reminiscent of his Australian hometown. From local, organic, fresh produce, delicious creations are made. The Avocado Toast is a good example; more than just toast and avocado, it includes Pappadew pesto, feta cheese, Asian greens, olive oil and you can add a poached egg to put it over the top.  The Aussie Scramble and Salmon Benedict are true winners.
