MAKE: Moving Images
11 a.m.–5 p.m. | Level 2

With activities inspired by Staging California in Early Hollywood, explore illusions through moving images with flipbooks and thaumatropes, an optical device popular in the nineteenth century.

Engagement Gallery

11 a.m.–6 p.m. | Level 1 Galleries

Contribute to a living collage inspired by Raymond Saunders or sketch your own movie scene with interactive activities in our Engagement Gallery.

Imagine & Invent!

11 a.m.–6 p.m. | Fueling Station

Take inspiration from Jon Serl’s work and draw your own invention for the future! While at the Fueling Station, enjoy special menu items inspired by Raymond Saunders: Flowers from a Black Garden available for purchase all day!

Dylan Williams Quartet

1 p.m.–4:30 p.m. | Level 2

Enjoy live jazz with the Dylan Williams Quartet, featuring Dylan Williams, Danny Lazzaretto, Jacob Casper, and Ethan Mach of the UC Irvine Claire Trevor School of the Arts.
