The Country Club has become a hotspot in Costa Mesa since opening in late 2017. With its classic country club décor complete with leather booths, vintage trophies and sporting paraphernalia, the bar and restaurant provides a unique venue for a cocktail and bites. The dinner menu is stellar, but stop by for happy hour at the bar, which serves as the restaurant’s centerpiece, from 2 to 6 p.m. during the week.
Silver Trumpet offers a sleek lounge setting to enjoy a happy hour cocktail and appetizer at. The bar, which is part of the Avenue of the Arts hotel, has both indoor and outdoor seating and offers happy hour throughout the week. Try out $9 specialty cocktails, $1 off beers and $7 select wines with a selection of appetizers like bacon-wrapped Medjool dates or chophouse sliders.

To enjoy live music with your drink, try The Wayfarer or Boathouse Collective on Costa Mesa’s Westside.

From 5 to 7 p.m. each night, The Wayfarer offers $5 craft beers and wine and 50% off of food. Through the week, though, they host specials like Monday’s 50-cent wings, Taco Tuesday, baby back rib & tall boy Wednesdays, slider Thursday’s and bottomless pasta Sundays.

Boathouse Collective’s happy hour window is narrow, but you won’t want to miss it. From 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, take $2 off draft beers, and enjoy $6 well drinks and wines, a selection of $8 specialty cocktails and a sampling of menu items like the Boathouse burger and chicken katsu. Live music begins at 7 p.m., so stick around to hear some local talent!

Wild Goose Tavern on Eastside Costa Mesa’s 17th Street is favorite neighborhood spot. The small pub decorated in hunting lodge fashion offers “elevated pub grub” in addition to its drink options. The Wild Goose happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. and includes discounted drinks and a limited menu of bites like pulled pork fries and bratwurst and burgers.
