Australian Chamber Orchestra at Samueli Theater

Experience the Australian Chamber Orchestra in a uniquely intimate setting, bathed in the warm glow of candlelight. This renowned ensemble, known for their virtuosic playing and adventurous programming, will present a program that spans centuries of musical expression. In the candlelit Samueli Theater, hear Purcell's hauntingly beautiful Fantasia on One Note, Handel's majestically celebratory Concerto Grosso in A Major, Op. 6 No. 11, a sonically immersive new work by John Luther Adams, Vaughan Williams' ethereally soaring "The Lark Ascending" (arranged by Adam Johnson), and Schubert's String Quartet in D minor, D.810 "Death and the Maiden" (arranged by Richard Tognetti).
