Following a sold-out performance in 2023, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra returns with the illustrious Maestro Riccardo Muti to perform Brahms’ hauntingly beautiful Fourth Symphony and Ravel’s beloved, Spanish-inspired ballet score, Boléro.

One of the preeminent conductors of our time, Riccardo Muti first gained international recognition in 1967 when he was unanimously awarded first place at the Guido Cantelli Competition for conductors in Milan. Over the past 40 years, he has built a distinguished career, serving as music director of both the Philadelphia Orchestra and Teatro alla Scala. In 2010, he was named Musician of the Year by Musical America. Muti served as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s tenth music director from 2010 to 2023 and was recently named Music Director Emeritus for Life, beginning with the 2023–24 season.
