Legends, 2026 at Segerstrom Hall

Returning to the Segerstrom stage, the epic musical production LEGENDS brings timeless stories from Chinese mythology to life through visually stunning performances and groundbreaking original music. This year's legends are Nezha, the Defiant Hero, and Chang'e, the Moon Goddess.

Set to a dynamic score blending traditional Chinese instruments, Huangmei opera, rock and roll, and classical music, LEGENDS features original music composed and conducted live by Bin He. The performances showcase modern and traditional artistic traditions from across Chinese history, from dance to martial arts to dragon dance to aerial acrobatics. LEGENDS is directed by Jiangli Yu and produced by South Coast Chinese Cultural Center.

LEGENDS 2026 reimagines two Chinese legends: Experience Nezha's battle against the Dragon King to save his village. Discover the timeless love story of Chang'e and Houyi and experience the brave and honorable sacrifice of the Moon Goddess Chang'e in this year's new legend.
