Event Description

Join OCMA for a first anniversary celebration where there will be a week full or concerts, screenings, projects, an anniversary party, and so much more! Admission is free and all are welcome to join in on the fesitivies!

Sunday, October 8 – Visitor Appreciation Day
1:00 – 4:00 PM

The celebration will begin outside the museum entrance with a special postcard giveaway to express gratitude for the 250,000 visitors who have come through OCMA in their inaugural year!

Tuesday, October 10 – Curator Tour & Ticketed Dinner
3:00 PM & 6:00 PM

Join CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman for a free public tour of OCMA's new exhibition Jennifer Guidi: And so it is. at 3:00 PM followed by a special ticketed dinner at 6:00 PM. Tickets for the dinner are required and limited space is available.

DJ Dave Muller will be performing a set from 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM with a special all day happy hour at Verdant bar until 8:00 PM.

Artist Talk: Dave Muller

OCMA CEO and Director Heidi Zuckerman and OCMA collection artist Dave Muller will discuss Muller’s creative practice rooted in Southern California and the intersections of visual art and music. At 7:00 PM, enjoy a curated playlist by Muller at the Verdant bar.

Friday, October 13 – Furry Friends Friday

Inspired by Alice Neel: Feels Like Home, OCMA will be hosting both people and pets! Bring your best furry friends and enjoy pet portraits, dog treats from Pup & Pop Bakeshop, and a special opportunity to meet and adopt rescued dogs from OC Animal Care and The Pet Adoption Center of Orange County!

*Please note this event is hosted outside the front of the museum. Pets are not allowed inside the museum. Service animals are welcome inside the museum. The ADA defines a service animal as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities.

Saturday, October 14 – Anniversary Party
11:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Celebrate OCMA's first anniversary with a meditative morning sound bath at 11:00 AM, a special pancake brunch and mimosa menu from café Verdant and sweet treats from the delectable Crepes Bonaparte food truck from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

In the afternoon there will be art activities from 1:00 – 3:00 PM accompanied by live acoustic guitar music. Experience an immersive dance performance on our outdoor Sculpture Terrace by Backhausdance at 4:00 PM inspired by artist Jennifer Guidi’s exhibition. 

Kick off the evening’s festivities with a happy hour starting at 5:00 PM where family, friends, and neighbors can meet up to enjoy beautiful sunset skies from the outdoor Upper Plaza. The final Big Night Out dance party of the season with KCRW DJs Francesca Harding and Valida from 5:00 – 9:00 PM.

Sunday, October 15 – Community Gathering

Yoga: Free Flow
11:00 AM

Take a breather and recharge your creative energy with a relaxing 60-minute yoga session on OCMA's outdoor terrace at 11:00 AM. Bring your mats and experience the healing powers of movement. Admission is free for OCMA members and $10 for non-members. Please come fifteen minutes early to check-in at the Welcome Desk on Level 1 and then meet on the Upper Plaza on Level 2.

¡ArteViva!

¡ArteViva! is a new Spanish-friendly program celebrating contemporary art and culture. Get your creative juices flowing with all ages art activities, an exhibition tour, and then sway to the beats of live music by Timba Tumbao as you learn to salsa with an incredible teacher from La Vida Dance Studio in the heart of Orange County!
