Seong-Jin Cho has established himself as one of the foremost pianists of his generation, known for his distinctive artistry and expressive depth. His playing, celebrated worldwide for its blend of virtuosity and nuanced balance, reveals both panache and purity. Cho first gained international attention in 2015 with his First Prize win at the Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, launching a remarkable career. His signing with Deutsche Grammophon in 2016 and recent 2023 Samsung Ho-Am Prize in the Arts underscore his growing influence in the classical music world.
In the 2024-25 season, Cho serves as Artist in Residence with the Berliner Philharmoniker, engaging in a range of projects, including concertos, chamber music, and international tours. He will also return to major venues such as London’s BBC Proms, the Philadelphia Orchestra with Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and the New York Philharmonic. Further highlights include his return to the Wiener Philharmoniker and performances with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in Korea, Japan, and Taiwan under Sir Simon Rattle, following a Brahms concerto in Munich.
