Summer Sounds: The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble at Argyros Plaza

Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of some of Southern California’s most eclectic artists and join us this June through July for a series of FREE all-ages Summer Sounds concerts on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza! From country to cumbia and everything in between, our lineup promises a musical journey that caters to every taste. Bring your friends and family for an electrifying evening of live performances under the starlit sky!

About the Artist
The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble is a 9 piece heavy instrumental funk band from San Diego, CA. Their influences are vast and include Hip Hop groups like Wu-Tang Clan and A Tribe Called Quest, as well as funk and soul masters like Isaac Hayes, The Meters, and James Brown. Their last two LPs debuted in the top 15 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Chart and they have shared the stage with Kamasi Washington, Quantic, Lee Fields, Monophonics, Jungle Fire, and most recently served as backing band for Hip Hop legend, Big Daddy Kane. The Sure Fire Soul Ensemble are definitely still on a roll coming off of their fourth LP, Step Down, which debuted at #14 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Chart.

This is a casual outdoor concert in an open plaza with limited seating. Don't forget to grab your lawn chairs, blankets, and sweaters to enjoy the show comfortably. Seating location is unassigned and first come first served.

Indulge your taste buds with delicious offerings from local food trucks and our outdoor restaurant; George’s Café, serving up a variety of dinner and drink options from gourmet bites to refreshing beverages. Guests are also welcome to pack picnic baskets with their favorite snacks and refreshments, however no outside alcohol, glass containers, tables, barbecues, and food preparation are permitted on the Plaza.
